Why We Launched This Search
The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles created The Next Big Jewish Idea as a grassroots campaign to tap into the creativity and passion of the community. The goal was simple: invite people from all walks of life to submit bold, actionable ideas that could make a real difference.
Rather than a top-down approach, the campaign put the power in the hands of the community — letting participants submit ideas, rally support, and vote on the concepts they believed in most.
The Process

Submit Your Idea
Community members shared their big ideas through the campaign website, describing how their concept would engage the community, ensure the Jewish future, or care for Jews in need.

Community Voting
Ideas were posted publicly, and the community voted for the submissions they found most compelling and impactful. The leaderboard tracked which ideas rose to the top.

Judges' Review
A panel of judges — community leaders and Federation representatives — evaluated the top-voted ideas against criteria designed to identify the most promising and feasible concepts.
